Commercial
Finishes
& Custom Millwork Services
Finishes are the layer of a commercial interior that gets touched, seen, and judged every day, so material selection and installation quality matter.
Lakeside pairs an in-house design center with our dedicated cabinetry, millwork, and finish carpentry shop to deliver wall, ceiling, floor, and built-in finishes for new commercial construction and renovation projects across Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.
Our Finishes Team Works With You
For more than 35 years, Lakeside has built a reputation for finishing details that hold up to high traffic wear without sacrificing design or the company’s brand.
Our finishes crew works directly with architects and owners in the Lakeside Design Center, reviewing material samples, trim profiles, and cabinetry side by side so decisions get made with the full palette in view. Our team are experts in Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) measures for healthcare and other occupied facilities, allowing us to keep finish work contained and on schedule around active operations. We completed new walls, ceilings, and a custom logo at Mercy St. Vincent Hospital’s Cafeteria, keeping patients and workers safe during the project.

Our comprehensive services, including our in-house design center, fabrication, and installation, simplify the process rather than coordinating it across multiple outside vendors. In-house Design & Fabrication Capabilities
Most project delays don’t come during installation but rather from waiting on a fabricator to return a cabinet order, waiting on a designer to resolve a conflict, or waiting on another trade before the next crew can start. Because Lakeside keeps design and fabrication under one roof, we eliminate unnecessary delays and keep a project on time.
In-House CAD Design
Before a single panel or piece of trim goes up, our in-house designer maps the layout in detail including the trim lines, panel patterns, and cabinetry placement. That means conflicts with outlets, sprinklers, or adjoining walls get caught and resolved on paper, not discovered mid-install when they cost time and material. For owners and architects, it also means decisions can be reviewed and approved before crews are onsite.
In-House Cabinetry & Millwork Shop
Custom casework, workstations, and built-ins are fabricated in our own shop rather than coordinated with another subcontractor or vendor. That keeps lead times in our control instead of someone else’s, and it means the crew fabricating a piece is accountable to the same Lakeside standards and quality as the tradesmen installing it.
Grabber PanelMax Milling Machine
On the drywall side, our PanelMax milling machine mills panel edges to a tolerance that removes the need for additional taping and mudding, a step that traditionally adds both time and dust to a project schedule. The result is a cleaner jobsite, a faster path to paint-ready walls, and one less group of trades moving through the same space.
