Lakeside Employees Receive CPR / First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens Certification

lakeside employee CPR/AED First Aid certification

Lakeside is committed to having individuals who are certified in CPR/First Aid on every jobsite. Recently, a group of Lakeside employees completed their training in CPR/First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens. A few of the Lakeside attendees were being newly trained while other Lakeside team members were updating their training, which is required every two years.

During the class, Greg Burkhart, Safety Director for AGC of NW Ohio, introduced different first aid situations and medical emergencies including burns, choking, seizures, and allergy reactions. He demonstrated how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) and how to protect employees and control exposure from bloodborne pathogens. He went over the signs and symptoms of a heart attack and stroke, and he also coached the class to be on the lookout for someone feeling or acting differently.

Everyone executed CPR on the manikin to confirm all they had learned. The manikin was connected to an iPad that gave each student feedback on how well they carried out chest compressions and rates.

We are proud to announce that our team has successfully completed and competently performed the required knowledge and skill objectives for CPR / First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens. Individuals who are CPR certified are especially diligent and attentive on jobsites, ensuring all workers are safe and feeling well. No matter their role within our company, we offer all of our Lakeside team members the opportunity to be trained in the basics of CPR and First Aid.
