Lakeside Interior Contractors

“Back in 1994 we completed an 85000 sq ft addition to the high school at Springfield.  During that time we reduced some of the work in other sections of the building due to budget constraints.  As part of the reductions,  we needed to add from outside the bid contracts to do some finish work in the halls where we removed the original 1967 floor tile.

I called Lakeside to work with us to replace tile with something new. He recommended we may want to consider carpet.  This was quite a shock knowing how messy the students and staff can be in the halls of a high school.  He developed a quote for the type and spec of the carpet.

I along with Randy, presented to the board an action plan for costs for install and care of the new carpeting that we felt would last for a very long period of time.We felt it would not have the amount of upkeep required by tile for the hospital appearance the Superintendent was used to.  Also we spoke to the Board about the benefit of sound reduction in the halls to disturb classrooms less.  We replaced 800 yards of tile with carpet.  To this day it is still in the halls and looks very good.  We found it not only reduced the sound levels, it  also helped to reduce the dust that constantly flew throughout.  The appearance is great and staff seem to love how quiet it worked for all.  Large area vacuums reduced the amount of labor to clean and maintain.
